Gary Baseman (born 1960) is an artist, particularly known as an illustrator and cartoonist, who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Baseman received a degree, Phi Beta Kappa, from UCLA in 1982. He has since worked as a fine artist, commercial artist, editorial artist, and as a television and film art director and producer of animation. He also created the art for the popular board game Cranium, as well as the cover and packaging art for the 2007 album The Crumbling Empire Of White People by Mr. Smolin.

Baseman is a creator and an executive producer of the animated television series for ABC/Disney called Teacher's Pet, which won the Emmy award for Best Daytime Animated series three times (two years consecutively), as well as a BAFTA for best International Children's Programming. Teacher’s Pet was adapted to a feature film released by Buena Vista/Walt Disney Pictures in 2004.

His work has appeared in magazines such as Esquire, Forbes, GQ, The New Yorker, Time, Reader's Digest andRolling Stone magazines, as well as in The New York Times. Chronicle Books published a monograph of his work titled Dumb Luck: The Art of Gary Baseman, in 2004. Baseman is also a creator of designer toys. Baseman has also contributed designs for collectible toys including Dunny, Qee, and Trexi.

Christopher Shy


Fantasy, Science fiction artist that occasionally goes by the name Ronin. I first found out about Christopher Shy from the Good Apollo: I'm Burning Star IV, From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness. This was a graphic novel that depicts the story of a man know as the writer battling his conscious, which takes form of a demonically possessed bicycle, for his sanity. Most recently he has worked with films such as Pathfinder, and the new Friday 13th.

Alex Gray

Alex Grey is an American Artist from Columbus Ohio. His style has been said to portray a surrealist background or spirituality meets psychedelic. If you have ever seen a tool album cover then you probably know of him. The Chapel of Sacred Mirrors is one of his most well known pieces and was made as a non-profit attempt to promote visionary art culture in New York.

Jhonen Vasquez




Jhonen Vasquez is one of my favorite comic book artist of all time. Writer and illustrator of comics such as Johnny the Homicidal Maniac, I Feel Sick, Squee, and cartoons like Invader Zim.
If you like really sarcastic humor with a larger helping of vulgarity just ask to barrow some books.

Ralph Steadman


Ralph Steadman is a British cartoonist and caricature artist. Close friend to the late Hunter S. Thompson, if you have ever seen Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas you will probably know his work. He has also illustrated versions of such books as Alice in Wonder Land, Treasure Island, Animal Far, and Fahrenheit 451. He is also the label designer of one of my favorite beers, Flying Dog.

H.R. Giger




H.R. Giger is a Swiss Surrealist painter, sculptor, and designer. You probably know him from is involvement with the movie alien, or for being the designer of the bat mobile in Batman Forever. He has worked with many musical artist as well like Korn, The Dead Kennedy's on their album Frankenchrist, Carcass, and Danzig.
